A downloadable game for Windows

About

"The Cretan Curse" is a game developed in Unity for a school project. It consists in a roguelike dungeon crawler where you fight your way through a dungeon with the end goal of killing the final boss and thus finish your run.

The original lore behind this game is the following: "Daedalus, architect responsible for creating the Minotaur's labyrinth, was given a task by King Minos: to kill the Minotaur. Equipped with his trusty hammer he sets on a journey through the very labyrinth he built in order to fulfil his mission."

Unfortunately, due to the time limit given to this project I couldn't add everything I wanted to the game and was forced to only use assets from the Internet, mainly from itch.io. I do want to keep adding content until I feel like the game is complete and make the game art myself, more specifically, make it follow the lore given to the game, such as the boss being a minotaur and not an ogre, etc.

As of now, 28th of June 2024, the game is fully playable and it includes: a random map for every run, 4 different enemy types, 3 player weapons and 1 boss. In the future I want to expand upon the dungeon crawler elements and add some sort of reward, such as a currency dropped from enemies, which allows the player to upgrade and/or buy power ups, in special rooms found throughout the dungeon. On top of adding new elements to the gameplay, I also intend on going back and redoing/improving current elements and optimize the game to run a lot smoother.

As I develop and add new content, I'll be posting it here along side their respective patch notes. I don't have a fixed date for when I want this project to be finished, like I mentioned before, it started as a simple school project and I took a liking to it which as now lead to me wanting to keep working on it as a simple passion project.
